We couldn’t quite believe it when we first heard Dead Fader, how apt they are for the 3by3 label. This debut 12” was first aired in the Baked office late last year, and given it follows the mighty sonic dirge that is Cloaks, it just goes to prove that 3by3 really are cultivating an identity and sound all their own. Beats heavy as hell, abrasive high-end sonics and fully-wonked bass rhythms are mangled into two phat-ass productions with the most seismic grooves imaginable. You could throw ‘Autumn Rot’ into the mix just to ramp up the darkness, watch as it sinks its teeth into your arm and refuses to let go. As for the flip… Well… All we’re saying is ‘No Thief’ 2:50 – if that’s not the sickest drop and reload we’ve heard in ages we’ll come round and smash up your house… All while blasting this Dead Fader 12”. Both tracks are drawn from the forthcoming, ear-bashing full length ‘Corrupt My Examiner’, and both tracks have been given an exclusive Transition mastering and cutting treatment, especially for this plate. Dead Fader are so maxed out, it’s hard to find an engineer who can deal with reproducing this blend of dancehall-noise and chainsaw-step for wax. For fans of The Bug, Surgeon and 16Bit – you gots to beware!
Here’s the mix done for Electronic Explorations, short but sweet. Grab it here.
This week I wanna present you one of my favorite producers in 2010: Huess. Supported by the brand new label & blog INAUDIBLE ANSWER, I fell in love with this EP called “I’D RATHER BE THE HUNTER”. I know that today, people like this new-wonky-glitchy hip hop, because of huge producers like Flying Lotus, Ras G, Mark Pritchard, and more… But please remember that before all that post J Dilla times, people like Dabrye or Prefuse 73 were already here, rockin with new beats & interesting chopped sample styles, using the groove as a production key.
Loon is an electronic musician, coming from California. Signed to Made in Glitch, who can never stick to one genre, as he says, did a great remix of Michael Jackson’s hit song Remember the Time. This youngster is much influenced by Sixtoo’s work, breakcore, top 40’s and new wave.

here’s a deep rooted sound to Teebs’ music that connects with our everyday surroundings. It spotlights emotional corners and builds warmth over the listener. Initially, I was drawn into Teebs’ world when I discovered his artwork. Rich in color, complex, yet leaving enough breathing room for its subjects to shine. I guess the same can be said for his production.
Teebs stays busy showcasing both side of his artistry. He’s recently coming off a very successful art show with Charles Munka in Kanazawa, Japan and putting the finishing touches on two others (info below). Music wise, he’s nearly completed his debut LP for Brainfeeder and will be releasing a collaboritive record with UK producer, Jackhigh later this month on Svetlana Industries.
There’s no slowing down for one of our next great talents and we’re very greatful he could take some time out to record this exclusive mix for BTS Radio.
