Project: Mooncircle & Finest Ego have teamed up to establish a fres…

Project: Mooncircle & Finest Ego have teamed up to establish a fresh new 12” producer series, entitled “Faces”. On every edition, you will find two different producers. Respectively, each producer will have their own record-side and unique cover artwork by the aspiring Bioniq, known for his surrealistic portraits, blending humans and technology.

On our fourth “Faces” edition we are featuring the two ascending artists Lomovolokno and Sieren, presumably the two most unknown so far. Originally hailing from Krasnodar, Russia and Bielefeld, Germany, one was inspired by naive childhood memories of imaginative creatures seen floating in the nighttime sky, while the other looks into an uncertain future that holds the anxiety of a fresh start but also the ever present risk of failure. The artwork takes these motifs and implements them in a vision of technological enhancements of human capacities and evolvement, forming a futuristic symbiosis that enables for synaesthetic senses heightened to an subatomic degree. But it is unsure, however, if these augmentations can actually expand our human experience or rather amplify our solitary existence and emotional void while traveling across fantastic worlds and the universal vacuum filling the space between.

Krasnodar, Russia: In the midst of grey soviet housing projects, a young boy enjoys playing and improvising his first little melodies on his parents piano. Always being inspired by the nature nearby the city – memories of peaceful springtime swimming sessions in the Black Sea come to mind – Lomovolokno grows up fascinated by machinery like samplers and the rapidly increasing possibilities of modern computers. Delving deeply into twisting melodies, building sounds and crossing notes leads his way to first field recordings resulting in an influx of elements ranging from waves of the sea, the wind, sand, crackling noises, banging and rustling becoming a part of his sound.

Sieren is the maiden name of Matthias Frick’s mother and also his current alias under which he started to release his first free tracks in 2011. Rumor has it that he has a dark secret history of producing experimental techno, albeit his love for UK influenced bass music existed for more than one handful of years. It was not until recently that he began to make the most of his love for field recording and experimental soundscaping and is now throwing his full force into music, while simultaneously finishing a university degree in computer science and design before moving from small town to métropole to follow a new set of challenges and advance to the next stage of his life.

Bioniq is an artwork designer, DJ and producer from St. Petersburg in cold Russia and Project: Mooncircle’s special KGB agent. With his drawings he aims to create new horizons on paper and draws inspiration from historic tales, events of the present age but also possibilities the future might hold.

Limited 12” vinyl for serious collectors, DJ’s and record addicts only!

This EP is the outcome of a five month spanning transition between warm a…

This EP is the outcome of a five month spanning transition between warm and bright summerdays to dark and dusky winterdays resulting in a change of moods that accompany this shift from lights, colours and sounds perceived everyday. It is a soundtrack made for commuting between different places in large urban spaces, filled by swarms of people shoaling and funneling across intersections, subway stations and central hubs like corpuscles pulsating in the cities veins, conducted by invisible algorithms in the symbiotic superorganism that is a metropole.

“I took a lot of inspiration from 3 main points of Tokyo City. There are traditional parks and shrines/temples that really take you away from the high rise buildings and make you feel like you could be in the countryside. Next, there are typical shops, neon lights, offices and general city life, and lastly, there is the red light area which is a great place to see all walks of life, from gangsters, working girls and strange things behind closed doors. I’m fascinated by this place, It seems like another world to me, I’m always drawn to it out of curiosity and the feeling I get while passing though is really inspiring.”

The EP also features a collaboration with Sorrow from Birmingham, UK, who has been making a name for himself in the scene since 2010.

For her new album “Olvido”, although working with Robot Koch and Sn…

For her new album “Olvido”, although working with Robot Koch and Sneaky again, Graciela Maria kept much more control of the producing part. The result sounds even more organic and acoustic than her debut. The electronic elements are very subtly used and the arrangements sound like a minimal playing but orchestral sounding folk band.

This new album is calmer but more intense, like an intimate whisper in a church or cold water dripping in a cave. Only the song “Last Place” with its snarling bassline reminds of the earlier electronica and dubstep influences. More than the last album, ”Olvido” includes songs with Spanish lyrics, nearly half of the songs are sung in Graciela Maria’s native language, which once more increases the closeness of the songs. “Olvido” is life written in music, music that invites us to listen to the silent moments that pass unnoticed. The lyrics of this album embrace the empty spaces left by losses. It is a requiem to a past that cannot be grasped with words and that Graciela Maria holds with her voice to avoid looking into the abyss. This album is to be heard in solitude, to look inside one´s self and ask: What is it, that we see there? What do we listen to and who are we?

Graciela Maria writes free verses, not looking for exact metrics her voice is floating on piano lines, drifting through organic sounds and gliding on cello strings. She creates an atmosphere of a standstill in time, remembering what has been, listening to the hours gone by. The voice on Olvido should be followed… because it´s an echo of a lost century in which poetry was written to feel life with words and to be able to die every night.

RP, the new album by producer Repeat Pattern,
is a silky polymorphic journey through the heart of a beat.
An art that Repeat Pattern handles adeptly on this, his third, release
on Cascade Records. With his very personal quality of beat production, the nervous clap, the heavy yet sweet bass line, the sublime sense of melody borrowed from jazz’s finest, Repeat Pattern bends sound to create his own hiphop. On this journey he leads us through various atmospheres, some welcoming and others hostile! put it on, lets go!

Sina. aka Barry Gordon is a musician and producer from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Fascinated by music from an early age he was intrigued and inspired by his fathers extensive and eclectic vinyl collection which contained many diverse genres of music, from Latin and African rhythmic music to folk, gospel and jazz. As a teenager he taught himself to play several instruments, learned musical theory and played in various local bands before being introduced to sampling techniques and computer sequenced music.

He debuted his first original compositions under the name Sina. in 2009, and after releasing several well received netlabel EPs, released his first proper EP through Project: Mooncircle on November 5th 2011.

His work is detailed, densely textured, melodic and most importantly emotive –

“The emotional aspect of my music always takes precedence over all other aspects. I have no problem drastically changing or dismissing altogether any elements which don’t serve or compliment the originally intended feeling of the piece. The heart is the essence.“

Trying to find a balance between all sounds and clips they put together from all kinds of ‘carriers’; cassettes, mp3, vinyl and sirenebox. This resulted in the ‘rootical’ digidub tracks now released by Sozialistischer’plattenbau label.
300 copies pressed (limited) and 50 white label !

SEAPOINT is the alias of Rafael Bucio, a mexican-born, 24 years old montreal based producer who after first being exposed to the sounds of his UK Bass heroes in the summer of 2010, decided to start creating his own tracks influenced by numerous artists of the ever-changing electronic music scene.

There are several acts, that have played an important part in development of Seapoint’s tracks, such as Sepalcure, Holy Other, Troy Gunner, Joy Orbinson among many others electronic – and hip hop – influences, to the point where it’s not easy to narrow down his brand of electronic music to a specific genre, and after less than 2 years of music production he’s building his own style with an impressive maturity and an evergrowing curiosity.

The “Nautical Day EP” marks Seapoint’s debut release for B.YRSLF Division and is composed of sounds that range from soothing Rhodes piano chord progressions to harsher basslines all accompanied by chopped up vocals, and soulful elements which add a sensual vibe to the whole production.

Russia proved to be excellent breeding ground for electronic music in r…

Russia proved to be excellent breeding ground for electronic music in recent years. Central figures of the beat scene publish on well-respected, international record labels, and the Fly Russia movement has been written-up in the most important music blogs and magazines.

For his new EP Body Varial, Moscow ambassador OL is embracing both Footwork tempi, the production aesthetics of Trap, and the fathomless echo chambers of Dub. Body Varial is as dark and dangerously brilliant as black snake skin. Its glossy textures flow elegantly though OL messes with pitch and complex percussion quite a bit. The warmth of former production has been replaced by cross-synced synth patches and adventurous harmonic compositions. ‘Body Varial’ combines sex with musical sophistication, offers common ground for bass nerds and dance folk. An immense record.

Infinite Machine’s latest release comes from Bucharest-born Liar,…

Infinite Machine’s latest release comes from Bucharest-born Liar, who delivers a 9 track release chartering his explorations into the darker side of electronic music, touching garage, dubstep, house and techno along the way. Across ‘Strange Love’, Liar propels through different styles and tempos with musical nods to the likes of Holy Other’s mournful, repetitive textures and Synkro’s skittering garage beats. That said, he prints a unique signature on each track to make it distinctly his – from the warped bassline of ‘Benzolovers’ to the ambience and dragged vocals of ‘Mamaia Vice’. Having previously released on Denmark’s Farver Music, Liar’s music has been supported by the likes of XLR8R and Mary Anne Hobbs on her Xfm weekly show, Music:Response. Although genre classification can help to distinguish the tracks apart, Liar has previously stated that he’s content to describe his music with two words – singular and lonely.
