Gold Along the Banks is an independently made documentary about a new generation of creative people from the streets of Belgrade. The film captures the lives, ambitions and visions of street artists, musicians, designers, photographers, students, entrepreneurs and other young Belgradians. Every one of them is successful without any funding or outside help. Late 2009, the filmmaker Nikola Zecevic came to Belgrade to learn Serbian and during his stay he was amazed by the amount of original things going on in Belgrade. Upon his return to Holland he decided to make “Gold Along the Banks” to show this to the rest of the world. “I just wanted to capture a moment in time, which is Belgrade right now. There’s a lot of great stuff in this city, all you have to do is look for it, like gold”, says the author, referring to the title “Gold Along the Banks”. Gold Along The Banks shows an unpolished raw look at Belgrade through a group of talented individuals.
If you liked the story, join us at the screening at Dom Omladine, June 09th, 20h.
